As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), I strive to provide comfort and peace for individuals, couples, families, and groups to navigate their journeys. My focus lies in offering culturally sensitive therapy rooted in evidence-based practices to aid healing and growth. I deeply value creating a safe environment where clients can freely explore their challenges and triumphs, guiding them through cultural nuances, communication obstacles, and generational differences with a gentle hand.
Some of the approaches I frequently utilize include: Art expressive therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Multicultural Therapy, Gestalt, Somatic, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Attachment- Based Therapy. In addition to these modalities, I believe in tailoring my approach to each client’s unique needs and preferences, fostering a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship.
My background reflects a path of learning, where my experiences as a tourism professor in China have instilled in me a profound respect for diverse perspectives and connections. Transitioning into Marriage and Family Therapy in San Diego has been a humbling journey, allowing me to extend empathy, support, and guidance to those in need.
I volunteered with Mother Teresa’s organization in India, taught Mandarin at a synagogue, and practiced mindfulness for compassion. In my free time, I find solace with my beloved dog and surf, embracing curiosity, courage, and a sense of wonder.
